The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ kick started the festivities to mark the UAE 44th National Day, with a number of celebratory events by which staff members of the various police departments expressed their pride in the countless national achievements made by the UAE in terms of security, growth and prosperity. They also reiterated their commitment to maintain the country’s gains that have earned the United Arab Emirates a prominent position among world countries.
The Directorate General of Police Operations at the Abu Dhabi Police hosted a big celebration that was attended by Major General Omair Muhammad Al Muhairi, Director General of Police Operations. The ceremony was organized by the Social Support Centers Department; in cooperation with representatives of strategic partners, at the Police Officers Club’s theatre in Abu Dhabi.
Major General Al Muhairi stressed the importance of celebrating the birth of the Union, which was a prelude for an unprecedented development and prosperity process for the country. “The UAE National Day is a momentous occasion treasured by every citizen and resident living in the UAE. On this day, we remember the far-sighted and exceptional leadership of the founding father, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who built the pillars of the UAE glory,” he said.
Brigadier Najm Al Hosani, Head of the Social Support Centers Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, also delivered a speech in the occasion, by which he congratulated the attendees on this auspicious occasion. “I pray God almighty to permanently bestow upon the UAE and its people safety and security,” he said. Moreover, he expressed his pride for the countless outstanding achievements and the many milestones attained by the UAE, which positioned it at the forefront of the most civilized countries in the world.
The ceremony featured a national poem recited by Emirati poet Munther Al Ka’bi. School students performed in the operetta “My Dear Emirates”, during which they presented a variety of shows depicting the past and the heritage of the UAE, as well as the professions carried out by our parents and grandparents before the establishment of the Union, such as the traditional uniforms, popular games, and the role played by women during that period.
The Directorate General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department, also organized various festivities to mark the 44th National Day. These festivities embody the importance of this day in consolidating unity and solidarity among staff members to express their appreciation, and pride in the achievements made since the establishment of the Union and its role in the progress and construction of a modern country in all areas.
In his speech on the occasion, Brigadier Mohamed Mayouf Al Ketbi, Head of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, hailed the significant achievements, the growth and stability attained under the Union which has become an example and a role model around the world.
The celebration featured a number of events, including plays presented by ADNOC school students, movies, poetry and contests that reflect the meaning of the great transformations created by the firm will and strong determination of the Union builders.
During the celebrations hosted at the directorate, Brigadier Khalifa Al Khaiili, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, emphasized that the UAE National day is an occasion manifested by joy with the achievements made by the country at all political, economic, social, and cultural levels.
He said: “On this precious occasion, we celebrate the birth of our Union, a new start towards further successes in all fields. Each year brings along a new achievement, which confirms the solid foundations of the union, thanks to the ongoing commitment of the wise leadership in the UAE to achieve the aspirations of its people and to attain the highest levels of comprehensive development.”
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police organized a celebratory event at the Al Ain Traffic Section. The festivities included traditional dances and artistic shows, as well as a heritage tent at the Section’s entrance with the participation of students from Ibn Khaldoun School.
Colonel Ahmed Abdullah Al Shehhi, Acting Director of Highway Traffic Department at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said: “Participation in these celebratory events across our beloved country is a national duty for all citizens and residents in the UAE. It is a simple expression of the inherent love of citizens and residents for the UAE.”
Towards the end of the celebration Colonel Al Shehhi, assisted by Colonel Ali Salim Al Dir’e, Chief of the Licensing Section in Al Ain, and Lieutenant Colonel Salah Al Humairi distributed appreciation certificates to a number of distinguished individuals at the Traffic and Licensing Sections in Al Ain and partner institutions participating in the festivities.
The Hemaya Security Services Company also participated in the United Arab Emirates’ 44th National Day by hosting an event at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi.
The celebrations began with the National Anthem. Then, attendees watched a documentary film titled “Words of Gold,” which included a selection of some of famous quotes by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, May he rest in peace, on various topics of life. Attendees also watched a short movie titled “Al Zaeem Al Falahi.”
The celebrations were attended by Brigadier Mubarak Abdullah Dhaher Al Muhairi, Director General of Guards and Special Tasks and Chairman of Hemaya Security Services, Brigadier Ahmed Mohamed Al Hantoubi CEO of the company, alongside heads of departments and chief of sections at Hemaya Company, as well as strategic partners and a number of officers, executives and employees at Hemaya Security Services.
In his speech on the occasion, Brigadier Al Hantoubi said: “The National day is an auspicious occasion to celebrate the birth of our union, the symbol of our pride, led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”
