On Tuesday evening, the (999) Magazine, the Ministry of Interior’s cultural, social, and security magazine, hosted a ceremony to mark the issuance of its 44th National Day special edition. The ceremony was held at the Emirates Palace Hotel under the slogan “Khalifa Nefdaak”. The ceremony was attended by Lt. General Retired Khalil Dawood Badran, Chairman of 999 Magazine Development Committee.

In his speech during the event, Retired Lt. General Khalil Dawood Badran said that the National Day reflects  one of the sublime values of loyalty and belonging to the UAE and the wise leadership that we are honored to serve. “Today, the UAE enjoys safety, security, and prosperity. These achievements were attained thanks to the wisdom of the leader, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and their brother General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces,” he noted.

Lt. General Badran also asserted that it is the duty of every citizen on this sacred land to celebrate the National Day; to show pride in the achievements made by the UAE and to recognize the sacrifices of our valiant martyrs who laid down their lives to protect the pride and dignity of the UAE.  He also stressed the attention and commitment of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to immortalize national occasions that reinforce cohesion, stability and solidarity.

For his part, Brigadier Thani Butti Al Shamesi, Head of the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police and member of the 999 Magazine Development Committee, said: “The National Day is an auspicious occasion to express our pride with our glorious country, which will always be a hub of security and stability; thanks to the grace of Allah Almighty and the dedicated attention by the higher leadership to the various police authorities, led by Lt. Adding further, he said: “We highly praise the efforts of the editorial team of 999 Magazine, which is witnessing continuous development to promote the media, security and policing message towards new horizons. This development is commensurate with the progress and prosperity process witnessed by the UAE, and embodies, in form and content, the Magazine’s slogan: ‘New Vision of the community-police relationship’”.
