As a part of the annual Ramadan lecture series, the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs in Abu Dhabi organized two lectures, in cooperation with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. The first lecture was given by Dr. Abdel Monem Fouad Mahmoud; one of the guests of His Highness President of the UAE, who were invited to lecture during the holy month of Ramadan. The lecture was held in the mosque at the Directorate General’s headquarters, and was attended by Colonel Yusuf Ismail Al Khouri, Deputy General Director, along with heads of departments, chiefs of sections, employees and customers.
The lecturer discussed the importance of availing of the auspicious occasion of Ramadan to perform this obligation in the best possible manner for the benefit of the country, the people and the world. He said that patriotism, diligent and perseverant work, and promptly completing customers’ transactions are values that derive from the teachings of Islam. He also called upon all Muslims to take advantage of the days and nights of Ramadan to recite the remembrances of God, and read the Quran with more understanding.
Towards the end of the lecture, the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs in Abu Dhabi honored the lecturer. Colonel Yusuf Al Khouri presented the scholar with a copy of the book “Zayed: Man Who Built a Nation”, along with a certificate of thanks and appreciation.
