The Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the Traffic Coordination Directorate General, praised the cooperation and coordination with the traffic directorates at the ministries of interior in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC); which will thus contribute to enhanced traffic safety throughout the region as a whole.
Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General, Traffic Coordination Directorate General, Ministry of Interior stressed on the importance of such visits and of the exchange of knowledge that take place regarding the best practices and mechanisms for handling traffic accidents. He also praised the commitment of the GCC ministries of interior in exchanging visits amongst other traffic directorates - which will help each state in acquiring new experiences and expertise in organizing traffic flow and in ensuring road safety.
Brigadier Al Zaabi had previously honored the officials and delegations from the GCC countries participating in the events organized for the 31st Unified GCC Traffic Week. The events are taking place under the slogan: “Your Choice Determines Your Destiny”. He also conveyed the greetings of the police leadership to the delegations and wished them a good stay in their second home, the UAE. He pointed out that the Ministry of Interior has organized an array of field visits for the delegations to various traffic departments within the country as well as to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in order to look more closely at the traffic situation in the country. The objectives of the visits include reviewing the development, coordination, and cooperation that is witnessed amongst these departments and to follow up with the most prominent solutions and plans carried out by the departments when facing traffic challenges.
For their part, the heads of the GCC delegations expressed their happiness for the opportunity to meet with officials from UAE traffic departments. They also thanked the Ministry of Interior for its invitation to participate in this week's events, in addition to their extremely warm welcome, generous hospitality and kind reception.
The honoring ceremony, which was recently held at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi, was attended by Colonel Hamad Mubarak bin Athath Al Ameri, Head of the Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; Colonel Nasser Ahmad Al Hosani, Chief of Federal Traffic Section at the Traffic Coordination Directorate General; Colonel Yeslam Al Tamimi; Colonel Jamal Salem Al Ameri, Chief of Public Relations Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, Abu Dhabi Police; and Lt.
