Ministry of Interior Urges the Public to Preserve the Rights of all Segments of Society

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, December 23rd 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Human Rights Department, emphasized that the United Arab Emirates stands among the leading world countries and has earned top marks for its considerable efforts and hard work to improve respect for human rights and to guarantee to the people of the UAE every means for decent living and welfare and helping them achieve their potential. The ministry has also endeavored to maintain the freedom, rights and dignity of community members, which are guaranteed by the constitution, laws and legislations of the country that are derived from the values and teachings of the righteous religion.

These remarks will be part of a radio address by Colonel Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi, Deputy Director of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior, which will be broadcast live on Wednesday. It falls within the framework of the ‘Security Glances’ campaign, organized by the Radio Branch at the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Colonel Al Shehhi will encourage members of the public to cooperate with the Human Rights Department in support of its efforts to preserve their rights, and to pledge to respect the rights of all society segments, the young and old, men and women, as well as people with special needs. He will also call upon all community members to spread this culture to ensure respect for human rights that are guaranteed by the laws and constitution, and ensured by the competent authorities, as well as the mechanisms for implementing and maintaining these rights.
