Saif bin Zayed Inaugurates NAVDEX 2015

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, February 22nd 2015 [ME NewsWire]

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, inaugurated NAVDEX 2015, the international naval defense exhibition, on Sunday. The exhibition, organized on the pier opposite the main platform of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), is part of the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX 2015).

H.H Sheikh Saif toured the pavilions of the national and international companies participating in this year’s IDEX and NAVDEX, and conversed with the exhibitors.

H.H Sheikh Saif praised the interest and support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and the ongoing support for the events of the exhibition bestowed by General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. He also indicated that IDEX has succeeded in becoming a world leader in the arena for international exhibitions, and has greatly contributed to the noble reputation of the UAE as one of the favored platforms amongst participating international companies.

He also asserted that IDEX 2015 and NAVDEX 2015, alongside other accompanying events, are prominently positioned on the map of international exhibitions organized by the UAE. IDEX and NAVDEX provide a distinctive platform for many national and international companies to increase their share of the global market through the ability to showcase their products and display their latest innovations to the world.

“Over the recent years, the UAE’s advanced infrastructure and geographical location have consolidated our position as a regional and global leader in the exhibition industry,” H.H Sheikh Saif said. “The UAE enjoys a strategic location that lies at the heart of the Middle East, where we are close to the African and South Asian markets, and strongly tied to the Far Eastern and European regions.”

A number of Navy Forces officers, Ministry of Interior officers, senior officials of interested parties, and guests attended the inauguration ceremony.

It is worth mentioning that the NAVDEX 2015 features the latest and most advanced technologies of naval defenses for warships, vessels, amphibious vehicles, and military equipment in addition to coastal security systems and maritime communication solutions.

Stakeholders have high expectations for NAVDEX 2015, as it represents an international platform that attracts the most contractors specialized in technologies and services of naval security and defense.

NAVDEX 2015 provides attendees with the opportunity to visit naval vessels and ships harbored at the pier in the ADNEC marina- which was specifically built for this purpose. Attendees will also be able to visit visiting naval vessels harbored at Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi – a comprehensive platform for showcasing the latest technologies and systems in naval defense. The Zayed Port is also a dedicated venue for networking between manufacturers and operators.

NAVDEX 2015 features a fixed platform in an internal show room, live performances and events, and visits to naval vessels and ships harbored at the pier on Arabian Gulf waters alongside ADNEC.

This year, the exhibition welcomes official delegations from various countries around the world, and hosts key naval vessels from sisterly and friendly countries, including: the United States, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan.
