Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, reviewed the awards and appreciation certificates obtained by Abu Dhabi Police Music Band, in recognition of their contributions to national and international events.
H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed praised the efforts exerted by the Band in reviving and immortalizing the UAE heritage, acquainting the world with this national historical legacy, and presenting a civilized image to the public. He also expressed his pride in these achievements.
Colonel Saif Al Shamesi, Chief of Cultural and Social Activities Section at the Clubs and Sports Activities Department, presented H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed with the certificates and commemorative gifts obtained by the Abu Dhabi Police Music Band. The meeting was attended by Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services; and Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police.
It is worth mentioning that the Abu Dhabi Police Musical Band has become a bright and distinguished entity that reflects the success and innovation of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters since its inception in the early 60s. The band has had a distinguished international presence and has performed in a number of international festivals and events, most notably at the Berlin Military Music Festival “Berlin Tattoo 2014”, where the Band members were dressed in the official traditional police uniforms worn by the officers since the founding of the force between 1957 and 1963; to highlight the progress achieved in various fields.
Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services said: “The Abu Dhabi Police Music Band has taken the responsibility to reflect the authenticity of the UAE’s cultural heritage through folklore shows and performances at the various international events.” He also noted that the Emirati traditions, with their inherent values and principles, are an essential national heritage worthy of pride.
