Saif bin Zayed Attends Rehearsal of Police College Graduation Ceremony

Officers Promoted to New Ranks

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, January 27th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended the rehearsals of the graduation ceremony for the 25th batch of male cadets and university graduates, and the 9th batch of female university graduates. The rehearsals were conducted on Tuesday at the Police College field in Abu Dhabi.

HH Sheikh Saif closely reviewed the final preparations, arrangements, and technical equipment to be used in the graduation ceremony alongside the graduates line and military march that cadets performed in front of the center stands.

Wishing the graduates the best of luck and success, HH Sheikh Saif recognized the efforts of the Police College in the graduation of police officers that have proven themselves capable to maintain security and order. His Highness additionally encouraged the students to focus even further on their rehearsals in order to reach the best level in their graduation ceremony.

In a generous gesture, HH Sheikh Saif spoke with cadets from the different batches, exhibiting both casual and brotherly discussions with them while he listened to their points of view and dispelled any fears that they had regarding this important day. The spirit of joy, relief, and confidence amongst the students was tangible during HH Sheikh Saif’s discussions with the cadets.

Students were crowding to take commemorative photos with their leader when HH Sheikh Saif expressed his pride for all the students and cadets. He also noted that they now have a national responsibility to serve society.

Attendees of the rehearsal included: Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Major General Mohammed Khalfan Matar Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Police College; Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services; Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Abdul Aziz Maktoum Al Shareefi, Director General of Protective Security in the Ministry of Interior; Major General Jassem Muhammad Hassan Al Marzouqui, Deputy Director General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Omair Muhammad Ateeq Al Muhairi, Deputy Director of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of RAK Police; Major General Salem Ali Mubarak Al Shamesi, Deputy Director General of Finance and Services; in addition to a number of general directors and high ranking officers at the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.

The rehearsal was also attended by: Colonel Saif Al Ketbi, Police College Director; department directors; and section heads at the College.

On another note, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, promoted senior officers to the ranks of Colonel and Brigadier. The officers were eligible for promotion as of the recently issued Federal Decree No. (7) of 2015 by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE – May God protect him.

HH Sheikh Saif congratulated the newly promoted officers, and urged them to further improve police work and to maintain the security and stability of the country. His Highness said: “Such an accolade is a great honor that has been bestowed upon them by His Highness, the President of the UAE – May God protect him. This recognition also represents an incentive to achieve further productivity and development.”

Adding further, His Highness asserted the importance of working in accordance with the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior regarding security. “The strategic plan focuses on the development and methods of police work, and interacts with the changes and advancements within the security arena,” said HH Sheikh Saif.

His Highness, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, pointed out that “police work is a dynamic process, one that continuously evolves and is in need of skilled and competent officers to contribute both their expertise and their strengths as leaders towards the pursuit of achieving the concept of modern police work. This concept of police work calls for effective communication and closer ties amongst all segments of society.”

HH Sheikh Saif also indicated that in order to contribute to the consolidation of security and stability throughout the country, the police force depends on its relationship with the public in every aspect and stays abreast of all the modern technologies.

For their part, the promoted officers expressed their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to His Highness, the President of the UAE – May God protect him – and swore allegiance to the country and to its wise leadership.
