Discussing Enhancing Security and Cooperation between UAE and Afghanistan

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, November 16th 2014

Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Resources and Support Services, met Masood Ahmad Azizi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Strategy and Policy in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and his accompanying delegation, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Sunday. The delegation is currently visiting the UAE for three days during which they will visit a number of police bodies at the MoI.

During the meeting, both parties discussed a number of topics of mutual interest and the ways to enhance the cooperation and coordination in the fields of security between the Ministries of Interiors of the UAE and Afghanistan.

The meeting was attended by Colonel Ali Mohammad Al Shamesi, from the Federal Criminal Police Directorate General; Lt. Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Mazroui, Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Interior; in addition to members of the visiting Afghani delegation, Major General Rahimullah Burhani; and Major General Abdul Wase Rofi.

Upon the conclusion of the meeting, both parties exchanged commemorative gifts.
