Invitation to Awesome Autumn Festivals in Busan

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Busan Metropolitan City announced that the 21st Busan International Film Festival and G-STAR 2016 will be held in Busan this fall.

The 21st Busan International Film Festival, the largest film festival in Asia, will be held from October 6 to October 15, 2016. Moviegoers will be able to enjoy 301 films in various genres from 69 countries across the globe in theaters across Busan, including the Busan Cinema Center.

This year’s festival will set a new vision for the future and make a new leap forward with its two special programs in focus: “And Film Goes on: Abbas Kiarostami Retrospective” commemorating Abbas Kiarostami, the Asian Filmmaker of the Year 2016, who passed away this year and “Cali Group: Root of Colombian Cinema”, shedding light on Colombian films that have recently grabbed attention around the world.

In addition, the festival will implement some side projects devised to provide filmmakers in Korea and Asia with substantive support through the Asian Film Market (AFM), the Asian Film Academy (AFA), the Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) and the Asia Project Market (APM).

G-STAR 2016, “Play to the Next Step”
