Teachers Earn Professional Diploma at AURAK

A number of teacher from the Ras Al Khaimah public school system have earned professional diplomas after completing a professional development program at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah’s (AURAK’s) Center for Continuing Education and Community Services (CCE&CS).

A total of 28 teachers received the diploma upon completion of the one-year program at a graduation ceremony hosted by the university. The program, which was sponsored by the Sheikh Saqr Program for Government Excellence (SSPGE), was organized and delivered in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and RAK Educational Zone. It contained general pedagogical training as well as subject-specific courses designed to enhance effectiveness in the classroom.

Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, AURAK president, praised the initiative and thanked the SSPGE and RAK Educational Zone for their support. He commented, “Education is the fuel of economic and societal development, and I am delighted to see AURAK actively contributing to the wider Ras Al Khaimah community.”

Ms. Sumayya Hareb, director of RAK Educational Zone, and Mr. Hichem Mezghani, manager of the CCE&CS, also spoke at the ceremony. Both parties reiterated their appreciation for the SSPGE’s support and stated their intent to organize future programs which will contribute to the development of education in Ras Al Khaimah.

The CCE&CS, which falls under the umbrella of the American University of Ras Khaimah, aims to enhance professional and technical skills of the learners to meet their lifelong professional and educational needs with the job market’s requisites. It provides a number of training and professional development courses throughout the year.
