Gulftainer is Awarded with an International Safety Award from the British Safety Council

In recognition of its efforts to protect the health and safety of all employees


Gulftainer, one of the world’s leading privately owned, independent port management and logistics companies, has won an International Safety Award from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to keeping its workers and workplaces healthy and safe during 2022.


 


Now in their 65th year, the International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations worldwide. During the previous calendar year, they have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health. The awards also acknowledge organisations committed to wellbeing and mental health at work.


 


The Gulftainer UAE terminals achieved significant safety milestones during the last twelve months, including attaining more than one-million-man hours with no Lost Time Injury (LTI) incidents.


 


Dan Wright COO of Gulftainer, accepted the award, commenting: “The health and safety of our employees will always remain our priority. This award underscores our success and commitment to ensuring that Gulftainer terminals remain one of the world’s safest workplaces.”


 


Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of British Safety Council, congratulated Gulftainer– UAE Terminals on their success in winning an International Safety Award 2023 with a Pass: “The British Safety Council applauds Gulftainer on their achievement. The award is in recognition of their commitment and hard work to keep their employees and workplaces free of injury and ill health”.


 


The vision of the British Safety Council is that no one should be injured or made ill through their work – anywhere in the world. Achieving this requires more than complying with legislation; it means people committed not only to health and safety but also more and more to workplace wellbeing and compelling others to follow suit.


 


During the last year, the Gulftainer QHSE management team has conducted over 14,000 hours of training, including inductions, equipment refresher training, HSE updates, and first aid and fire-fighting training. In addition, management teams have carried out more than 175 safety walks and daily inspections, working tirelessly to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees and visitors.
