ISACA event helps tech professionals navigate digital transformation, culture
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.-Thursday, August 17th 2017 [ AETOS Wire ]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Writer and podcast host Ryan Hogarth will set the pace in an opening keynote “We Are Not Robots” at ISACA’s 2017 Africa Computer Audit, Control and Security (CACS) Conference, to be held 11-12 September 2017, in Accra, Ghana.
Hogarth, author of “How to Win Influence and Friend People,” will cull from his work in digital and business transformation, and change and customer relationship management, to make a case for increased attention to human and team behaviors for business success.
“In addition to bringing research data and examples from organizations around the world, I look forward to engaging the ISACA audience--professionals across a spectrum of business-critical IT roles--and enriching their understanding about themselves; the people and behaviors they encounter every day; and the team and organizational dynamics that can accelerate, or stymie, growth and success,” Hogarth said. “There will be myths debunked, mindsets hopefully expanded, education--and perhaps a little entertainment on the side.”
Events at 2017 Africa CACS will wrap up with realistic, optimistic and localized views of how IT professionals on the African continent can improve personal performance, career progression and employee/team motivation in the face of challenging economic times, in remarks on “Forging Ahead in a Tough Economic Environment” from author and organizational behavior expert Siphiwe Moyo.
“For IT professionals in intense day-to-day roles, and in organizations buffeted by challenges in some market sectors and industries in African economies, there is a need and opportunity to consider the current, larger economic and strategic landscape as well as personal and professional development challenges, and opportunities, they may encounter. I plan to provide insights, and more important, positive inspiration for attendees to carry forth,” said Moyo, CEO of Paradigm People Solutions and an adjunct faculty member at Gordon Institute of Business Science and Wits Business School, all in the Johannesburg, South Africa, area.
The Africa CACS Conference targets audit/assurance, COBIT, compliance, risk, security, and strategy/governance professionals from throughout the region. This year’s program will include the following tracks:
IS Audit and Assurance
Governance, Risk and Control
Compliance and Privacy
Security/Cyber Security
Attendees also will have the opportunity to participate in pre-conference, two-day workshops that qualify for 14 CPEs. The current schedule lists

COBIT 5 Foundations
