UN Climate Change Award-winner, Grundfos, to Showcase State-of-the-Art Sustainability Solutions at DEWA’s 18th Annual WETEX Exhibition

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Monday, August 22nd 2016 [ME NewsWire]

The UAE Government is a globally-recognized advocate for sustainable development, with the country playing host to participants from over 50 countries at one of the world’s largest annual Water, Energy, Technology and Environment exhibitions, WETEX, which is organized by DEWA (Dubai Electricity & Water Authority).

Now in its 18th year, WETEX attracts the world’s most renowned energy sector professionals and organizations. The event has therefore developed over the years to become a global platform for presenting scientific, management, engineering and technology solutions in the water, energy conservation and sustainability fields. Attending this year’s Solar Show, which is part of WETEX, was for Grundfos a natural choice. Grundfos, a global leader in advanced pump solutions and trendsetter in water technology, last year received the United Nations Climate Change Award during COP21 in Paris, for its approach to sustainable water supply in Kenya and Uganda. Commenting on their wider environmental achievements, Henning Sandager Andersen, Area Managing Director Grundfos Middle East & Turkey, said:

“Aside from giving competitive advantage, we believe that constantly improving and innovating our solutions, we can help our customers to reduce their energy consumption. Sales of our highly-efficient  circulator pumps in the EU between 2005 and 2015 represented accumulated savings of 4.5 billion kWh per year. This is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 1,000,000 European households. These same products can provide region specific solutions to the challenges of the Middle East and the long-term visions in place by many of the Governments, authorities and municipalities. We are excited to be showcasing many of our solutions and new technologies in energy efficiency and sustainability this year WETEX.”

Grundfos has a long history of technological innovation in its pump solutions, which are used in many contexts, including the construction sector for air-conditioning, fire protection, water supply and wastewater. Their smart pumps are used in large buildings such as hotels, hospitals and malls. The company is also the world's largest manufacturer of circulator pumps, covering approximately 50% of the world market, meaning that the company is truly a global influence in energy efficiency.

WETEX 2016 is being held under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA; under the umbrella of Green Week. The exhibition takes place 4th to 6th October.
