Qatar Foundation’s Stars of Science returns to TV screens this weekend, with a brand-new set of aspiring Arab innovators ready to present their technological solutions to the world.
From the Gulf to the Middle East all the way to North Africa, more than 100 applicants pitched their inventions to the famed jury and members of the show’s renowned alumni. They put their presentation skills to the test in hopes of earning a place in the selection episode, during which the final eight contestants will be chosen to enter the innovation workshop.
As communities around the world adhere to their collective responsibility in fighting the pandemic, the importance of Stars of Science is more evident than ever. With the rising necessity of investing in science, technology, research, and innovation, the show’s efforts – and other initiatives like it – have proven vital during the COVID-19 outbreak humanity currently faces.
Part of Qatar Foundation’s Qatar Science & Technology Park, Stars of Science aims to drive interest in science, innovation, and entrepreneurship in its viewers – both in an educational and entertaining manner.
The TV program will continue to air until November 6 on several channels across the region and online through the Stars of Science YouTube channel. For a full broadcast guide, please visit www.starsofscience.com.
About Stars of Science
As the premier innovation show in the Arab world, Stars of Science – the edutainment TV initiative of Qatar Foundation (QF) – empowers Arab innovators to develop technological solutions for their communities, benefitting people’s health and lifestyles, and helping to preserve the environment.
Over a 12-week process, the contestants demonstrate the effectiveness of their solutions in a shared innovation space, competing against time with the support of a team of experienced engineers and product developers. An expert panel of jurors assess and eliminate projects every week across several prototyping and testing rounds, until only four finalists remain to compete for a share of $600,000 in seed funding. Jury deliberation and online voting from the public determine the rankings.
Stars of Science will air every Friday and Saturday from September 11, 2020 till November 6, 2020. Please visit the broadcast guide for channels and timings: starsofscience.com
