ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Saturday, September 19th 2015 [ME NewsWire]
The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ reviewed a number of national and international security information models and task assignment processes implemented nationwide, with the aim of availing of these experiences to develop police and security work. These topics were on the agenda of the 12th Knowledge Forum that was recently held by the Knowledge Center at the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
During the opening ceremony, Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed the need for dynamic risk assessment and analysis of the available security information in order to identify optimal strategies to combat and reduce crime. He said: “Plans are developed in order to implement the appropriate strategies to respond to crimes and challenges and to identify the optimal channels to assign resources; as per the UAE laws and policies.”
Mr. Richard Warner, from the British National Security Information Center gave an overview of the security Information model’s simple operational form, which is used to collect and analyze information to facilitate decision-making in order to fight crime and reduce it across all levels.
He noted: “The national security information model is perfectly flexible and adaptable and is implemented across three different levels, notably the local, regional, and national levels. Security information is handled in accordance with the roles and responsibilities undertaken by national groups, as well as the scope of crimes identified in each level.”
Adding further, Mr. Warner said: “Crimes that require priority response and assigning the necessary resources are identified via the dynamic risk assessment. Results and lessons learned are constantly reviewed and crime priorities are examined periodically.”
The forum was attended by Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Deputy Director of Strategy and Performance Development and a large number of staff members at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
It is worth mentioning that the Knowledge Forums to exchange knowledge and innovative ideas that are organized by the Knowledge Center at the Strategy and Performance Development Department at Abu Dhabi Police aim to spread the culture of knowledge across all sectors. Such a notion has become both a scientific and practical reality through the implementation of best practices. The forums also represent an ideal opportunity for participants to discuss, exchange views and learn from unique experiences in a bid to share knowledge and develop further.
