ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, July 31st 2015 [ME NewsWire]

The Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of the “Radio Elocution” course, which was recently held at the headquarters  of the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. A total of 12 staff members from the Traffic and Patrols Directorate and the Security Media Department took part in the course.

Major Ibrahim Al Bateh, Chief of the Media Documentation Section at the Security Media Department, stressed the importance of the advanced course in honing the skills of trainees and acquainting them with the necessary and essential voice placement and elocution skills and tools, which represent the basics for the success of any radio presenter. This would serve the goals of media message, and ensure that it gets through to the audience in an effective and meaningful manner.

He added that the Security Media Department recruits the best and highly experienced Arab and international trainers and media professionals, in order to provide trainees with more skills and expertise and allow them to keep pace with the latest developments.

For her part, media personality Inas Jawhar from the International Institute for Administrative Planning and Development who supervised the course, praised the successive developments taking place at the Security Media Department, which is keen to reinforce the knowledge and skills of police trainees. The course also tackled several topics, including the art of speaking and mastering the Arabic language and skills of voice placement and elocution, which is fundamental for reading broadcast news and conducting live interviews, debates and other radio-related tasks.

It is worth mentioning that the Abu Dhabi Police have been keen to constantly upgrade and modernize the use of media discourse in line with their vision in communicating with the public through various media. To keep pace with the rapid development of the Radio Branch, officials established a radio studio in 2010.  The studio was fitted with the latest and most advanced equipment and operated as per an effective methodology to serve the objectives of the media message.
